Great Question

Here's the question. When will Dan Hymans answer it?

My question to the hospital board members, City of Ashland, and to Dan Hymans: Why is it OK to pay good wages and benefits in Superior but to avoid these issues in your City?

When will the answer come from Mr. Hymana? (sic) I'm sure we will never hear from him on this issue. & that's a shame.

There is a hardcore group in Ashland including a former County Board Chairman who believe that the area's economic future must be based on low wages. This group is quite influential and their initatives go a long way to explaining many of the backward actions of local government. This group of "capitalists" are unable to compete using innovation or capital investment and so underpay workers and go to government with their hands out to make a profit. You will find most of them hanging around Freeloader Hall above a drugstore.

My question to Cold H2O and the other commenter is, How many employees do each of you have and what kind of capital have you invested into your community?

Just asking.

You know, anonymous commenter, I won't play your stupid game. Investment takes many forms, & least among them is financial capital. I suppose I could list, oh, I don't know, millions of dollars, or thousands of hours, or a whole bunch of taxes; but that wouldn't impress you, would it, so why should I try. Nonheroicvet is right on about the oligarchs in Ashland. They have driven away more good paying jobs than they have brought to the community. You have a front page article & picture when a Martinsen pays back a loan, Jesus Christ, that is what you are supposed to do, pay back the loan, why is that front page news when it comes to group led by SueHank? When is the last time, anonymous commenter, when a woman, who paid back a loan that allowed her to go to WITC or some other institution to further her education, got her picture on the front page of the paper? & remember, a.c., SueHank thinks the Daily Press is one of those liberal rags. Well, I agree with nonheroicvet, to find hypocrits, go to Freeloader Hall, about a certain drugstore. Oh, anonymous, how much "capital" have you invested in this community? Just fucking asking.
