If the research shows hearing loss to be a health problem, why won't the goddamn insurance companies cover the cost of hearing aids? I used to think that the insurance companies felt that people themselves were responsible, since they could wear hearing protection, but I've changed my mind since so much hearing loss is due to things beyond an individual's control. I know, I have significant hearing loss, but right now can't afford the four thousand dollars it will take to get hearing aids in both ears. So I just go along nodding, asking several times to have someone repeat what they've said & continue arguing with mrs. coldH2Owi that I have convenient hearing loss.
